- Where: Fort Bragg and Mendocino village, Mendocino coast, CA
Organized by Local groups and museums. Details and tickets come from the organizer.

Halloween on the coast is small-town Halloween: a street festival in downtown Fort Bragg, lantern-lit ghost tours through Mendocino village, a haunted house the Lions run every year, and kids in costumes on Ukiah Street after dark. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so most of it lands on one day. Here’s everything we could confirm, with times, and what to book ahead.
What happens
- Magic Market Halloween Street Festival, downtown Fort Bragg: Saturday, October 31, 11am to 4pm. Laurel and Franklin close to traffic for vendors, a costume contest, face painting and wand-making. Free to wander.
- Haunted Mendocino Walking Tour, from the Kelley House Museum, 45007 Albion Street, Mendocino: October 31 at 5pm and 7pm, about an hour and a half, plus other October evenings. Shipwrecks, ghostly riders and haunted houses. $15 to $25; buy ahead.
- CircusMecca’s Halloween street show, Ukiah Street, Mendocino village: Halloween night, with circus performers, fire dancers and a DJ. Last year it ran from about 5 to 9pm, free with a suggested donation. This year’s times aren’t posted yet.
- Haunted Hall of Horrors, Lions Hall, 430 E. Redwood Ave., Fort Bragg: October 23, 24, 30 and 31 from 7 to 10pm, and Thursday the 29th from 6 to 9pm. $10 to $20, and the money goes to local community projects.
- Spooktacular Storytime, Fort Bragg Library, 499 E. Laurel Street: Saturday, October 24, from 10:30am, with Halloween stories and a little carnival for small kids. Free.
- Pumpkin Wonderland at EarthSpoke Farms, 13501 Point Cabrillo Drive, Mendocino: Wednesday to Saturday all October, 10am to 4pm. A free pumpkin patch on a flower farm, with the farm stand open next door.
- Skunk Train Pumpkin Express, from Willits: select October days through the 31st. A two-hour round trip through the redwoods to a pumpkin patch at Crowley, where everyone picks a pumpkin to take home. Willits is about an hour inland.
Food and drink
The street festival has food vendors through the afternoon, and Fort Bragg’s restaurants are open as usual, but Halloween night itself is busy and a lot of families eat early. If you’re staying in a rental, it’s an easy night to stay in: trick-or-treat or the ghost walk first, then dinner at the house.
