We’re a small private-chef company on the Mendocino coast. We collect only what we need to plan your event and stay in touch, we keep it to ourselves, and we don’t sell it. Here’s exactly how that works.

The short version

  • We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
  • Our chefs are the people who see what you send us. The services below store or process it for us, and nothing more.
  • Ask and we’ll delete it. Use our contact form or call (707) 941-3452.

Our chat assistant

Our chat assistant is AI, not a person. It answers questions about our services and gathers the details of your event so a chef can follow up.

  • What’s saved: your messages and the assistant’s replies, and the event details you share (date, guest count, location, dietary needs, and your name and contact details if you give them). We save the chat so our chefs can pick up where you left off instead of asking you everything again.
  • How the replies are written: your messages are sent to an AI model provider (Anthropic’s Claude, through Vercel’s AI Gateway) to generate each reply. We don’t use your conversation to advertise to you.
  • What else we record: a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to stop abuse, your browser type, and the page you started from. We don’t store your IP address itself.
  • On your device: your browser keeps a copy of the chat so it’s still there if you reload. The Clear chat button removes it from your device and starts fresh; to delete our saved copy too, just ask.
  • Please don’t share payment details, passwords or anything sensitive in the chat. We’ll never ask for them there.

Inquiry and contact forms

When you send an inquiry, we receive your name, contact details and event information. It’s stored on our website and in our internal records (Google Workspace), emailed to our team inbox, and used to reply to you, plan your event, and keep a record of bookings. We send you an automatic confirmation email.

Mailing list

If you tick the box to hear about pop-up dinners, we add your name and email to our mailing list (run on MailerLite). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future mailings.

Payments

Deposits and balances are paid through Stripe. Stripe handles your card details under its own security standards; we never see or store your full card number.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand which pages are useful and how people find us. It uses cookies and collects things like pages visited, approximate location and device type. It doesn’t tell us who you are. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on, and the site still works.

Who sees your information

Our chefs, to plan and cook your event. The service providers named on this page store or process it on our behalf (our website host, Google Workspace, Anthropic and Vercel for the chat, Supabase for the chat’s database, MailerLite, Stripe and Google Analytics). We may share information if the law requires it. That’s the whole list.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and event records while they’re useful for your event and for our business records (taxes, bookings, and remembering what you liked last time). If you’d like us to delete your information, ask and we will, unless we’re required to keep something, such as a payment record.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to your information is limited to our chefs, and the services we use protect the data they hold. No system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason we never ask for sensitive details in a chat or form.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under state law. We don’t sell or share personal information for advertising. Children: our site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes and questions

If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions or requests: use our contact form or call (707) 941-3452.
