EarthSpoke Farms is a family-run dahlia and flower farm on Point Cabrillo Drive, just north of Mendocino village. Every October the field turns into Pumpkin Wonderland: pumpkins piled on hay bales, an old pickup parked in the patch, and squash of every color stacked under the farm’s banner. Admission is free, and the farm stand next to it is open too.
What happens
- Pumpkins to pick out and buy: big orange carvers, white pumpkins and dark green winter squash
- Hay-bale pumpkin displays and an old truck in the field, which is where most of the family photos happen
- The farm stand, open the same days: winter squash, tomatoes, carrots, greens and whatever else is coming in
- Flowers and dahlia plants from the farm itself
Food and drink
Nothing cooked on site. Buy a pie pumpkin or a few winter squash at the stand and roast them back at the house, or bring them to us: squash this fresh is the start of a good fall dinner.
