Nobody hosts, and nobody’s in the kitchen

There’s usually one person in every bachelorette group who’s organized the whole thing, and she’s the one who ends up plating while everyone else is toasting. That’s the failure mode we exist to prevent.

The other one is logistics. A group of twelve doesn’t easily get a restaurant table on this coast in summer, and if you do it’s at an awkward hour with a drive at both ends. At the house, the night starts when you’re ready and finishes when you decide.

Make it hands-on, if that’s the vibe

One of the most-booked versions of this weekend isn’t a dinner at all — it’s a cooking party. The group works alongside the chef with a glass in hand, makes pasta by hand or cooks a Caribbean menu with Chef Chantelle, and then sits down and eats what they made.

It gives the afternoon a shape, it’s a far better group activity than most of the alternatives, and it photographs beautifully. Mention it in your inquiry and it lands in the quote.

The shape of the weekend

• Arrival night — a grazing spread that sits out while people turn up at their own pace, which they will.
• The dinner — the showstopper. Long table, several courses, menu written around the bride.
• The morning after — a slow brunch with something restorative and a jug of something cold. Consistently the most appreciated meal of the weekend.

How much does a bachelorette party chef cost in Mendocino?

Do you cook at vacation rentals and Airbnbs?

Yes — most of our bachelorette dinners happen in the rental’s own kitchen, anywhere in Mendocino County. It doesn’t need to be a good kitchen; it needs to exist.

Can you handle mixed diets in one group?

Always. Vegan, gluten-free, allergies — one table, one menu, everyone eats well. The vegetarian gets a real course, not the same plate with something removed.

How do we split the bill?

However you like. We invoice one person and you sort it out among yourselves — per-person pricing makes that arithmetic easy, which is partly why we price this way.
